Alex Tew figured out a new way to SELL
something nothing (PIXELS) for $1 / each making almost pure profit and he will have made well over $1,000,000 in just over four months since he’s eBaying the final 1,000 pixels and the current bid is over $150,000. All I can say, is congratulations. You are THE MAN, Alex. For now at least… 🙂
And check out his Popeye arms in his blog picture. But still, $1,000,000 in FOUR MONTHS from ONE WEBPAGE. Just a fricking little genious PUNK isn’t he. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. 🙂

The Million Dollar Homepage is launched
So I had this little idea the other day. I was trying to think of interesting ways to make some cash before going to Uni (which is in about a month’s time) and somehow this crazy thought entered my head: I’ll try and make a million dollars, by selling 1,000,000 pixels, for $1 each.
And so ‘The Million Dollar Homepage’ is born…
I thought, this could be something crazy enough to work! Because I think people like crazy/quirky ideas. If this captures people’s imaginations and people check out the site, then the pixels on the homepage will have value – and people will buy them (to display their ads etc). That’s the theory anyway. The way I see it though: I’ve got nothing to lose by trying. And I’m sure it’ll be fun.
So anyway, I’ve spent the last few days building the site, registering the domain name, and working out a plan. I love making plans. And here is the result. Check out the freshly made FAQ for all the answers you’ll ever need, and don’t hesitate to buy some pixels!

Yeah, if it were only always this easy.
Looks like the Brittish bugger is at it again and this time he is taking it political. Check out the new creation from the million dollar Bobby at milliondollarbush.com.
Hmm, well I don’t believe that the MillionDollarBush.com site is being run by Alex, but it is a good example of another site that seems to be running the increasingly popular MillionDollarScript. Here’s another Bush coverup one: Bush Cover Up. Yay! 🙂
He’s not British and his site is at http://www.downbush.com
He wants us to erase the Bush Presidency.
To promote your account of casino, bingo or bets
Ha been born a new Web type milliondollarhomepage.com but exclusively for casinos, biNgos.
By single 20$ you have the possibility of including your own block of 10 xs 10 Pixels or what is the same… 100 Pixels.
Il author assures that this block would be in index of the Web during a at least 5 period of years.
You have the possibility of registering free in the Web and with your keys, you enter the Panel of administration where you find the tools necessary to create the blocks, with the title and direct link to your web. The mode of payment is with Neteller or Paypal.
The Web it is http://www.casinobingos.com
The guy made a million bucks…but he did not tell the truth about how he came up with the idea. Take a look at projectpixels.com and decide for yourself.
If I was the kind of person who bought pixel ads, and let me stress I am no such thing because it’s so untargeted, I might go for something like companybattleships.com which seems to have some quite nice programming behind it and is doing well on Google for “pixels for sale” and “buy pixels”.

‘a Devon business with global ambition’
Date: Monday 16 January 2006
Australia asks Devon Designer for Help
Devon internet businessman and web designer Alan Wheeler has launched an innovative web advertising service which has already attracted an international company to sign up.
Bovey Tracey based Mr Wheeler has also been asked by Australian charity ‘Hope for Children’ to help them design and set up a similar web-based advertising service.
His web-service http://www.millionairepixels.co.uk enables businesses to buy a square of pixels, on the web page. Customers click on the coloured pixels and are immediately transported to the advertiser’s web site.
With each block of 100 pixels costing just £60 (60p per unit) it is, believes Mr Wheeler, one of the best value advertising and promotion options for businesses of all sizes and a potentially valuable boost to tourism related services.
And, in the longer term, advertisers could end up bidding for space on what is being described as internet ‘real estate’.
Mr Wheeler, aged 42, said “It’s a quick and easy way for people to find a service or firm and it also gives competitive advantage to the businesses because, with the millions of web sites available, this will draw potential customers to them much more easily.â€
“Without a doubt there are people globally willing to pay for quite gimmicky advertising solutions. The internet is a fast moving place with over eight million web pages added on a daily basis. For a website to stand out and generate sales it needs to stand out from the rest,†he added
Last autumn university student Alex Tew set up the Million Dollar site and since then has been overwhelmed by the success of a venture intended to raise enough money to pay for his way through university.
Alan Wheeler’s http://www.millionairepixels.co.uk is, he says, the next big step in the concept because, in effect, businesses are ‘leasing’ virtual real estate on the web to promote their businesses.
Launched just two weeks ago, http://www.millionairepixels.co.uk has already won the backing of international business Optis Europe Ltd, an operations management company, which is using the site to promote its business.
With more customers advertising it is, says Mr Wheeler, inevitable that like real property, some of the pixels on his site will become increasingly valuable for their ‘owners’ as more business is generated.
However, the last 1200 pixels, or advertising blocks, will eventually be auctioned off in support of the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, said Mr Wheeler.
We are very pleased with our investment in the Million Dollar Homepage. I managed to get in there quite early, buying the large red /blue and white target near the centre of the page.
Within that image there are links to 5 different websites. Our main Corporate Gifts website reached a peak of 5000 unique visitors a day and has levelled off to 500 a day at the moment.
I know the traffic is untargeted, but there are ways to increase the success of it. I found that a easy way to get more benefit is to have a special offer on the page that is linked to by the MDHP. We have now recouped a large part of our investment within 3 months.
How about all these copycats?
Beautiful Lingerie Pixel are cool, sexy, pretty! So 🙂
Found another one!

Jobless Boy Launches A Website To Sell 10,000 Jeans On The Internet!
USA jobless boy has set his sights on earning himself a million dollars after thinking of a simple idea of selling brands new and used jeans on his homepage MoneyOrBox.com
He had been thinking of ideas on how to make a little extra money for himself but some of his ideas either never worked out or were just far too ambitious.
So far there are 28 jeans sold on the homepage which has netted him just $1300 but as visitors grow and more people hear about the site, no doubt more jeans will be added and he will progress towards his target of 10,000 jeans on his homepage and one million dollars in the bank.
You can view the website by visiting http://www.MoneyOrBox.com
We are also using the pixel-page idea as a gimmick for advertisers to buy placement in our real estate specific directory. You may check our our homepage here – http://www.BestRealEstateBusinesses.com – and our directory here – http://www.BestRealEstateBusinesses.com/directory.html
I’ve found a really cool website for the World Cup 2006 with pixel advertising: http://www.flagthedonkey.com
Check it out. It’s really funny and something new in pixel land 😉
I believe that Alex’s site still generates some indirect value for advertisers at least by improving their visibility in search engines. It has a PageRank of 7 and many still continue to add links to it (by the way, this article has just added one link). So, getting the link from website with such a high PageRank for as low as 1$ it is clearly a reasonable investment. Good luck to all the copycats 🙂
How about a new twist on the idea. Instead of pixels, what about words.
